Scheduled for every Tuesday at 10-11 a.m. Lap/Sit Story Time is a program disgined for children up to three years old. It consists of simple pictured books, songs, rhymes and fingerplays. Babies and small children may sit on the caregiver's lap or on the carpet. Children older than two usually sit on the carpet. It is meant to help develop social skills, extend attention span and develop good listening skills. Pictured from left, Denis Hays, participates in the McAlester Public Libary Lap Program song and fingerplay with his "Memaw" Freda Arreola.
