On September 21, 1990, the One Hundred First Congress of the United States of America passed Joint Resolution H.J. Res.467, which became Public Law No: 101-355 designating the third Friday in September as 'National POW/MIA Recognitijon Day', and recognizing the National League of Families POW/MIA flag. United States has fought in many wars and thousands of Americans who served in those wars were captured by the enemy or listed as missing in action.
